Behind il Caffe & Pizza are Matvei and Artyom — brothers for whom restaurants became part of life in childhood.

The restaurant business was part of my life long before il Caffe & Pizza in Belgrade came into being — a project I am directly involved in creating and developing.

I grew up in Lobnya, near Moscow, in a family of entrepreneurs who have been in the restaurant business for more than 20 years. From childhood, I saw restaurant life from the inside — the kitchen, teamwork, talking to guests and everything that makes up its daily life.

In Moscow, I studied restaurant and hotel management at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. At the same time, I continued helping my parents and working in different roles in the family restaurants. The knowledge I gained at university was constantly complemented by real-world experience.

Artyom

The restaurant business surrounded me from childhood and played a major part in my choice of profession.

I grew up in a family that has worked in the restaurant business for more than 20 years. Alongside Matvei, I saw this work from the inside as a child, and later became actively involved in the family restaurants myself — working in the kitchen and helping in different roles.

In Moscow, I trained as a food industry technologist. I have always been especially interested in the kitchen: ingredients, food preparation techniques and the organisation of production processes. Working in the family restaurant business, I could immediately put what I learned into practice.

Today I continue to build on that experience in Belgrade. I work alongside Matvei at il Caffe & Pizza, taking part in the everyday work of the kitchen and the development of the project.

Brothers. A shared craft.

Matvei and Artyom once worked together in the family restaurants in Russia. Today they work side by side again — in their own pizzeria in Belgrade.

A familiar name. A new chapter.

The name il Caffe pizzeria is also part of the family story. It came from Russia, where the family restaurant still operates under that name today.

il Caffe & Pizza in Belgrade is a project by Matvei and Artyom and a new chapter in a family restaurant story spanning more than 20 years.
